Beaches

Local attractions #02The Cider House is well situated for quiet sandy beaches such as the stunning Whitsand Bay. Miles of sand and rock pools with a dramatic backdrop of the cliffs make this a very special place.

Cornish coastal villages

PORTWRINKLE - Two shale/ sandy beaches very popular with locals and widely used in favourable conditions for surfing. Many interesting rock pools to explore. A short steep walk down a path is needed to access both beaches.

KINGSAND AND CAWSAND - There are good beaches in both Kingsand and Cawsand with easy access from the off street parking. You can also take a small passenger ferry from Cawsand into the Barbican area of Plymouth.

FREATHY AND TREGANTLE - Excellent, clean sandy beaches stretching 6 miles along the bay. You may need to climb down steep rocks though some paths are easier to access.

Unusually these beautiful beaches are deserted.
DOWNDERRY AND SEATON - Miles of sandy beaches. Easy access in Seaton and a short walk down in Downderry.

All the above beaches qualify in the "Good Beach Guide"
